يعد الشيخ محمد الجامع سعد الله الأسعدي من أعلام الأدب والفكر؛ نشأ في مدينة إلورن، في حي سرمي بولاية كوارا في نيجيريا، حيث تفتحت مواهبه، وتكونت ملامح شخصيته العلمية والأدبية. وقد تلقى علومه الأولى في معهد الهلال الإسلامي ، ثم واصل دراسته فيه في مراحله اللاحقة، حتى اكتمل بناؤه العلمي، جامعا بين أصالة التلقي ونباهة الفهم.
وقد أثمرت جهوده العلمية والأدبية عددا من المؤلفات القيمة، من أبرزها:
• «نشر الرحيق في مدح أبي بكر الصديق أپارغدوم».
• «من غفلة الفؤاد إلى وقفة الميعاد».
• «السراج الوهاج» (ديوان في الشعر العربي).
• «المن والسلوى في حب من أهوى».
• «داليات الأسعدي في مدح شيخه ومعلمه العلامة سلمان سنبو».
• «الدرة المكنونة في مآثر سعد الله»، ألفه رثاء لوالده.
• «مقامات الأسعدي».
• «تقويم الآداب والسلوك للأطفال»، وهو من المصنفات التربوية النافعة، وقد صدر منه جزءان.
ويعرف بدقة عبارته، ورشاقة تصويره، وجزالة أسلوبه، وقوة بيانه؛ إذ يجمع بين فصاحة اللفظ وعمق المعنى، ويكسو المعارف حللا من الجمال الأدبي البديع. فهو أديب مبدع، وصاحب قريحة وقادة، يمزج مداد العلم بروح الفن، فتسمو كلماته، وتأنس بها الأسماع والقلوب.
ولذلك ذاعت شهرته في الآفاق، وانتشرت آثاره بين طلاب الأدب وعشاق البيان، لما تميز به من خصائص رفيعة وقيم سامية. وقد نالت آثاره القلمية منزلة مرموقة في ميدان الأدب، واستحسنتها الأذواق العربية والعجمية، لما حفلت به من جودة الصياغة، وبراعة الأسلوب، ونبل المقصد.
Shaykh Muḥammad Jāmiuʿ Saʿdullāh al-Asʿadī is regarded as one of the eminent figures in the realms of literature and thought. He was raised in the city of Ilorin, in the Sarumi quarter of Kwara State, Nigeria, where his talents flourished and the contours of his scholarly and literary personality took shape. He received his early education at al-Hilāl Islamic Institute, and subsequently pursued his studies there at advanced levels until his intellectual formation was completed, harmonizing the authenticity of traditional learning with the acuity of refined understanding.
His scholarly and literary endeavors have produced a distinguished body of works, among them:
• Nashr al-Raḥīq fī Madḥ Abī Bakr al-Ṣiddīq
• Min Ghaflat al-Fuʾād ilā Waqfat al-Mīʿād

• Al-Mann wa al-Salwā fī Ḥubb man Ahwā
• Dāliyyāt al-Asʿadī fī Madḥ Shaykhihi wa Muʿallimihi al-ʿAllāmah Salmān Sanbū
• Al-Durrah al-Maknūnah fī Maʾāthir Saʿdullāh, composed as an elegy for his father
• Maqāmāt al-Asʿadī
